VIII - SoM

It was my first time experiencing APC's SoAB week, obviously. Wait, no. It's now called SoM not SoAB; since they have to consider the tourism students. Anyway, The whole week was a lot of fun! Aside from not being required to attend some of our classes, we also got to do sports activities and such. Sports activities such as; badminton, volleyball, basketball, and table tennis. Although, our block wasn't able to play the dodgeball game 'cause we didn't have enough players. Also, there were no players for basketball girls so it was considered as a default.

During the opening ceremonies, since our block won at the Chants and Cheers Competition, we were asked to perform it again. I made a lot of mistakes though. But oh well, I'm over it.

We also, due to being APJMA Apprentices, got the chance to help out in the programs during APJMA Day. Then there was the SoM night, which I did not attended. Then, the Mr and Ms. SoM 2015 pageant or something. I'm so glad I watched it, really. Even though I almost lost my voice because I was also cheering with all my might like everyone else, it was really worth it 'cause in the end they won.

Since SoM week is done, College week is next. I hope it'll also be a lot of fun or  a lot more fun.

VII - Parasyte

We watched a Japanese movie called "Parasyte". It's about aliens taking over the human's brain or something like that. What we watched was the part 1 of the movie. It's a really good movie.

There's this guy called Shinichi whose hand got taken over by an alien called Migi. Migi looks weird but kinda cute. Shinichi's mom also got taken over by an alien they called Mr. A or just A, but unlike Shinichi, she was completely possessed. In other words, his mom died some time in the movie. He regretted how he left important words unsaid. Especially since he had a fight (sorta?) with his mom before she died. They weren't able to properly talk it out.

Life is full surprises. You don't know what will happen the next day, so take every moment seriously. Life is short. You won't know if tomorrow someone will leave you or not and vice-versa. Don't leave important things undone and important words unsaid. Take every moment as a chance. Make memories, live your life without any regrets, because regret is a permanent wound. It won't ever be a scar because it cannot be healed. It's that kind of wound that can only be healed by whatever or whoever caused it. It's honestly a lot worst compared to a heartbreak.

VI - Smoking

Sometimes I wonder how smoking relaxes people. Smokers say that they smoke to relieve stress so in other words it relaxes them. But really, how? Well, whatever. I'm not really supposed to talk about that.

I know a lot of people who smoke. My brother smokes and so does my some of my friends. They all say that they smoke to relieve their stress and all. It's good that they have a stress reliever, but really, is there no other way? I get stressed too but I don't smoke. I relieve my stress by listening to music, sleeping, or reading. Besides, smoking is really bad for a person's health.

I know that a person cant simply quit smoking, and they knew that too before they even tried. I wonder what came into their minds. Is it curiosity? Maybe. They knew before hand that its bad for the health but they still did it. It's not simply too much stress that made them do it is it?  Since it's not curiosity either.

Funny how people are afraid of death but not of what causes death.

V - Turn Left, Turn Right

I honestly really like romance movies, so when our professor had us watch this movie called "Turn Left Turn Right" I really liked it a lot. It's a story about two people who fell in love with each other for the second time. The first time was back when they were still kids and didn't even know each other's name. It's really cool how their love wasn't successful the first time and so they had a second time. I think it's destiny.

Watching the movie was really frustrating. You know how when the second time they met they gave each other their number (wrote it in a piece of paper) so they could keep in touch but because of the rain the ink faded and so they couldn't see the number. They got so frustrated. They didn't even know they were neighbors not til the earthquake thing happened.

There is a poem mentioned in the movie. It's called "Love at first sight".

Love at First Sight
By: Wislawa Szymborska

Both are convinced
that a sudden surge of emotion bound them together.
Beautiful is such a certainty,
but uncertainty is more beautiful.

Because they didn't know each other earlier, they suppose that
nothing was happening between them.
What of the streets, stairways and corridors
where they could have passed each other long ago?

I'd like to ask them
whether they remember-- perhaps in a revolving door
ever being face to face?
an "excuse me" in a crowd
or a voice "wrong number" in the receiver.
But I know their answer:
no, they don't remember.

They'd be greatly astonished
to learn that for a long time
chance had been playing with them.

Not yet wholly ready
to transform into fate for them
it approached them, then backed off,
stood in their way
and, suppressing a giggle,
jumped to the side.

There were signs, signals:
but what of it if they were illegible.
Perhaps three years ago,
or last Tuesday
did a certain leaflet fly
from shoulder to shoulder?
There was something lost and picked up.
Who knows but what it was a ball
in the bushes of childhood.

There were doorknobs and bells
on which earlier
touch piled on touch.
Bags beside each other in the luggage room.
Perhaps they had the same dream on a certain night,
suddenly erased after waking.

Every beginning
is but a continuation,
and the book of events
is never more than half open.

Quotes:
"Beauty is such a certainty, but uncertainty is more beautiful”
“Life is full of coincidences…even two parallel ligns might some day meet”

IV - The Bald Soprano

Last time, we watched a play at school "Ang Tatay Kong Kalbo" which was performed by the Teatro club.

At the beginning of the play, Mr. and Mrs. Santos were verbally fighting or something. They have this funny maid named Maria, I think. As the play continues, there was an entrance of three other characters which was Hepe, and then Mr. and Mrs. Reyes. Hepe is a fireman and Mr. and Mrs. Reyes were a sick married couple. Everything about the play was absurd. They kept on repeating their words or statements, even, their stories and the scenarios too. Also, their stories were just absurd. It didn't make any sense.

Anyway, I really enjoyed watching the play so much. It was very worthwhile since it was very entertaining even if a lot of things and stuffs didn't make any sense at all. Plus, the actors and actresses did really good. I think that their acting was flawless. A successful production, I say.

III - Heneral Luna

I watched a movie called Heneral Luna with my friends. It was a historical movie that actually happened in real life.

Heneral Luna was a great general. Probably the best there was during that time. Although he had his flaws,  one could not deny the fact that he's really smart. He was good in what he does. He's not just simply arrogant unlike the others. It was really annoying how he got killed though, and by the people of his own country too. They killed him because they didn't like him. They didn't like his arrogant attitude. I guess it's true how they say that people forget to acknowledge the good things you've done once they've known the bad ones. Even if its only a small one in comparison to the good ones.

It is truly annoying how betrayal comes not from our enemies but from our allies. It's the sad truth.
